My First Place

This was the very first place I ever rented. I was 17 years old when I rented it. I just dropped out of University of West Georgia and this lady was looking for somebody to sublet because it was going to be too expensive for her and her two children. I'm eternally grateful to that lady because she let me sublet under her name until I turned 18 and the lease was transferred to me. I bought her furniture from her and it was a king size bed set, couches, tables, and all of her kitchen cutlery. She really changed my life... I was living with my mom and it was about 6 of us in a 2 bedroom. It was alot to deal with because my mom would get really aggresive with us on her medicine and she would call the police for no reason. She would call the police sometimes everyday. The College Park police knew who we were. That is so much to deal with when you're working two jobs and trying to chase a modeling contract. Sometimes she'd hit us and dare us to hit her back. I was so sad living there and I only dreamed of having my own place. I started becoming sexually active at 16 and I was so tired of sneaking around. I felt like I was too old for that, so I saved up all my money for my own place. And I got it. Now... the house was in East Point. In the hood. It was off of Washington Rd and Main St. I had to walk to the East Point train station from the house everyday to go to work. I was only off on Wednesdays. I worked 10-10 M,T,S,S. Then I worked 5-11 on Thursdays and Fridays. Every single penny counted... I wore the same clothes every day because I couldn't afford my rent, utilities, groceries, and a new outfit. I just wasn't that fortunate at the time. I don't know how in the world I did it. I would be so tired, but I would keep going. No matter what. I was honestly so happy I had my own place that all the other mess I had to deal with just didn't matter. I got to sleep in a king size bed, which I never had. I got to make my own meals. I would have company over almost every Wednesday. We'd stay up and watch movies on my projector and just laugh soooo loud all night. I had alot of fun at that house. I just hated the gun shots at night. Also, there was a trap house down the street that was very active. Especially at night. Some of the customers would knock on my door and I'd always answer and help them with whatever they needed. I always had extra to give. Extra clothes, toiletries, food, covers, towels, etc.
This was my bedroom. This is a picture of me when I was vegan. I was so little.
